You can take part by clicking HERE or use the QR code below. Your views are vital for the production of a robust Plan that works for ALL the community! 17th July 2024 – Meeting of the NDP Steering Group
7pm Kingsdown Village Hall Lower Room
Jim Boot will be joining us remotely for this meeting. During the last meeting members of the steering group were assigned an area from the 4 main topics and asked to produce questions for the survey. This evening the group will review these questions prior to Jim producing an electronic form of the survey. The information gathered from the survey will be key to producing the final plan as it will reflect the opinions, needs and aspirations of the community.
18th June 2024 – Meeting of the NDP Steering Group
7pm Kingsdown Village Hall Lower Room
Jim Boot will host the second meeting of the steering group. The steering group has 11 members. At the first meeting it was decided that the chair would be different for each meeting. Cllr Jez Hermer will chair this meeting. It was also decided that Cllr Sharon Hogben would be the secretary, taking meetings and organising events. This meeting will focus on the survey which is to go out to every household in the Parish. The NDP is for the community and by the community. Community involvement is key to a robust plan that works for all, and can be successful at the referendum, a ballot which will decide if the draft plan is finally adopted. The household survey from Langdon is being used as a template and has been sent out to all steering group members ahead of this meeting for review. The survey for our Parish will cover the 4 main topics; transport, housing, environment and heritage and community infrastructure. It is envisaged that this survey will go out primarily an on-line exercise but there will also be hard copies for those that prefer.
12th June 2024 – Meeting of the Environment and Heritage Working Group - Surveying
6.30pm Church Cliff, Kingsdown
Jim Boot will talk us through surveying environment assets for an hour or two this evening. This involves filling out a form - the "Green Space assessment tool". This asks us to rate the area for beauty, historic significance and heritage, recreational value, tranquility and wildlife. It is important that we have a list of assets across the Parish to provide the evidence base for the plan. Once we have catalogued and assessed them we can try to afford additional protection within the plan. You can shape the place where you live, protect valued open spaces using the local green space designation. Some areas eg the SSSI on the beach and the AONB (or National Landscape as its now known) are already protected by other agencies, these will be recognised but not assessed by us. If you would like to be part of the Environment and Heritage working group then please contact the Chair shogben@ringwouldwithkingsdown-pc.gov.uk
